Sodium Ascorbate (Vitamin C)

Vitamin C has utility in the prevention and treatment of cancer. It acts as an antioxidant, neutralizing free radicals, and as an immunomodulator. It improves the activity of leukocytes and protects them from oxidative damage derived from their cytolytic activity. Vitamin C is also essential in the formation of collagen: together with proline and lysine, it strengthens the extracellular matrix, thus hindering the invasion of tumor cells to surrounding tissues.

Artemisia (Artemisia vulgaris)

Artemisia has been used in Traditional Chinese Medicine to treat fevers, inflammation and even malaria. Currently, many research focuses on the antitumor activity of Artemisia, especially one of its molecules: artemisin. Through the generation of reactive oxygen species, artemisia is able to inhibit the growth of different tumor cell lines, including leukemia and brain cancer.

Magnesium

There is a clear epidemiological relationship between magnesium deficiency and cancer. Most chemotherapy treatments induce a deficiency of magnesium, which determines the transformation of the precancerous cell. Magnesium is involved as a cofactor in more than 300 enzymes of the metabolism of carbohydrates, amino acids, nucleic acids and proteins. Its role in the metabolism of fatty acids and phospholipids is key to a correct permeability of the cell membrane.

Curcumin (Curcuma longa)

It has antioxidant and antiviral properties. By regulating important signaling pathways, it exerts an anti-inflammatory function and is capable of inducing programmed cell death of cancer cells. In vivo studies have shown that it sensitizes the effects of chemo and radiotherapy.

Beta-glucans

They are 1,3-1,6 molecules of fungal origin. They have been shown to have immunomodulatory activity. The role of the immune system in cancer processes is especially relevant in blocking metastases. In addition, beta-glucans also act as prebiotics, thus favoring the growth of the beneficial intestinal microbiota.

Zinc

It has been observed that Zinc deficiencies are very common in cancer patients and in fact it is a good indicator of the nutritional status of the patient. Zinc improves the functions of cellular immunity, as well as the activity of killer cells. It acts as an antioxidant, induces anti-inflammatory cytokines and promotes apoptosis of malignant cells.

Vitamin D-3

Vitamin D-3 directly and indirectly regulates more than 2,000 genes, intervening in a multitude of processes: it is capable of increasing apoptosis, as well as decreasing cell proliferation, the formation of new blood vessels and metastasis. It has anti-inflammatory effects. Chronic inflammation is involved in a large number of conditions, including cancer. In dogs and humans, low levels of vitamin D have been shown to correlate with a higher chance of cancer. In addition, vitamin D enhances the anticancer effects of various chemotherapeutic agents, improving the response to anticancer therapy and animal health.

Vitamin E

Fat-soluble vitamin with antioxidant properties. Maintains the integrity of the cell membrane, inhibiting its aging. It exerts a protective effect on the nervous system and the retina.
